The first Mexican national coin.
General Agustin de Iturbide was crowned Emperor of Mexico shortly after the Declaration of independance. He reigned less than 1 year from May 1822 to March 1823. He was sentenced to death the following year and executed by a firing squad in a failed attemps to come back to power in 1824.
